Step by step
- Call and tell us what’s happening. Describe what you see, hear or smell, where it is in the house and when it started, because you don’t need to know the cause.
- We find a licensed plumber who is free now and works in your area. We look for someone whose trade matches the job, so a sewer backup goes to a company with a sewer camera and jetting equipment.
- They quote you directly, and you pay them, not us. The plumber calls you or arrives, looks at the problem and gives you a price, and then you decide whether to go ahead.
What we check, and what you should check
We only send plumbers who show us a current California C-36 license and proof of insurance. Licenses can lapse after we check them, so look the number up yourself at cslb.ca.gov when the plumber arrives, which takes about a minute.
We don’t set the price, and we don’t guarantee the work. The warranty comes from the plumbing company that does the job, so ask what it covers and make sure you get it in writing.
When to call someone else first
If you smell gas, leave the house right away, and don’t flip light switches or start a car in the garage on your way out. Once you’re outside, call SoCalGas at 1-800-427-2200, or call 911.
If sewage is backing up into the house, stop running water and flushing toilets until a plumber has looked at the line, because every gallon you use has to go somewhere.
